This was a look that I put together for the "You've Got the Look" Competition by Lord & Taylor. It's a styling contest that consists of FIT and LIM students with a grand prize of $10,000! $10,000 freaking dollars! Which of course would go towards our college tuition. We were given three trends; power pastel, global view, and bright side. Obviously, I chose power pastel and the key item for this trend was pastel denim. First we had to submit a photo of a look consisting of clothes that relate to one of the trends. Then the top 8 whom are chosen by Lord & Taylor's fashion editor at large are then to style a look from Lord & Taylor's Spring 2012 contemporary collection. Unfortunately, I didn't make the top 8. At first I felt like a complete failure, but after seeing the top 8 styled looks. . . I'm not going to lie but those feelings of failure went away. Although, I was a bit upset I didn't make the top 8 I'm still really glad I entered because in the beginning I wasn't going to bother to enter. Then a few days before the submissions were due, I was like "why not?" I have nothing to lose! Except for some money, I ended up keeping the mint pants! But those 10,000 buckaroos sure could have helped out my parents a lot!
But congrats to the girls that made the top 8 :)
