gender-blur

asos bear hat. topshop infinity scarf. Uniqlo +J coat. h&m t-shirt. zara jeans. steve madden loafers. asos/h&m/gifted rings. vintage glasses.

The other day, two friends and I rented bikes and went bike riding through Central Park, which was extremely fun by the way. It was a perfect autumn day with crystal clear skies, I highly recommend biking through central park if you ever visit NYC! But on to the main topic, this is what I wore that day and for some strange reason so many people thought I was a girl! I mean getting mistaken for a girl happens to me almost everyday, but I didn't feel that I looked like a girl in this look. Which made the usual comments and questioning about my gender more shocking and amusing. A nice lady that took a photo of us described my friends and I as "three asian girls" and the bike rental worker called us "ladies." I can't help but laugh every time this happens. I never intentionally try to dress like a girl, it's just how I am! I personally am not offended when people confuse me for a lady, it's just really funny.

ps. never wear skinny jeans to go bike riding! Especially the boys. They ride up on you in the wrong ways! Not comfortable. I tried to be functional. . .

I love your coat! You have much better style than any boys (or all boys added up) that I know but I don't think you look that girly. x hivenn

One of my friends gets mistaken for a girl pretty frequently. It comes in handy at bars on ladies night.

Haha, what a great tip on the skinny jeans don't for bike riding. Will have to pass that on! Love your coat!

I don't think you look like a girl at all! Maybe they got a bit confused because of your shoes? At least, people here would I think... But you're in New York! Anyhow, I adore this outfit of yours and it's a big inspiration to me :) It's so cute and comfortable.
