Irving Penn

So I was blog exploring the other day and randomly I ran into Irving Penn photos. I've heard of Irving Penn before but I haven't actually seen his work before (I know sad right!? Don't get mad at me please T-T). But when I saw his photos I was in awe; I was speechless. He was able to capture a woman's true elegance, something I don't see often as I browse through the glossy pages of fashion magazines. His photography is more then just a photo. They're much deeper, there is something so raw and real about them. There is a story behind his photos which makes it so intriguing and it makes you want to discover what lies beneath the surface. Unfortunately, he has passed away just last year on October 7, 2009. He definitely will be remembered in fashion world as one of the greatest photographers ever!

Here is some of my favorite photos by Penn.

Isn't his work amazing? You guys should also check out his portraits as well!
He is one of my favorite photographers now!
What do you think?! Do you like him as much as I do? Google him!

I apologize I can't remember where I got these photos from. I went on a research adventure and forgot...

Irving Penn is such a legend - I watched this programme on TV where Rankin recreated some of the most famous images and recreated the photo with the elephant. You might find it interesting to have a look at - google is your friend! haha
